Learn how to make crispy and soft Medu Vada from homemade medu vada batter from our chef Smita Deo on Ruchkar Mejwani. <br /> <br />Medu Vada is a popular healthy authentic South Indian breakfast recipe that is relished with coconut chutney and sambar. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br /> <br />2 Cups Urad Dal, soaked for few hours <br />Oil for frying <br />Salt to taste <br /> <br />Method: <br /> <br />- Grind the urad dal to a fine batter with using little water. <br />- Heat the oil for deep frying. <br />- Once it is hot, dip your fingers in little water and pick the batter in your hand. Shape it round and put your thumb in the center and make a hole. Drop the batter in the oil in round shape and deep fry till light brown and crisp. <br />- Serve the pipping hot Medu Vada with coconut chutney.
